FAQ
Frequently asked questions
The questions we hear most often about choosing and deploying SaaS backup and ransomware recovery. Still unsure? Ask us directly.
Doesn't Microsoft, Google, Slack or Atlassian already back up my data?
No. Your SaaS vendor guarantees platform availability, not preservation of your data. Native retention is short — often around 30 days — and does not protect against ransomware, malicious deletion or a departing admin. Recovering your data is your responsibility under the shared responsibility model.
What platforms do you cover?
Microsoft 365 (Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Groups, Planner, OneNote), Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Shared Drives, Calendar, Contacts, Sites), Slack (channels, threads, DMs, files) and Atlassian Cloud (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket).
How fast is a restore?
For a single item, seconds. For a full mailbox, site or project, minutes to hours depending on size. The platform does not throttle restores, and we help you run recovery with confidence.
Can ransomware reach the backups too?
No. Backups are immutable and isolated outside your tenant, so they cannot be encrypted or deleted with your admin credentials — even if an attacker fully controls your SaaS account.
Where is my backup data stored?
On EU-based infrastructure by default, encrypted in transit and at rest, and physically separated from your production tenant. Your data does not leave the region.
How do you connect to our tenants?
Through read-only, OAuth-authorised connections. There are no agents to install, and access is scoped to what backup and recovery require.
Can you restore to a different user or account?
Yes. Cross-user and cross-account restore is supported — useful for offboarding, migrations and disaster scenarios. Structure, permissions and metadata are preserved.
How does this help with NIS2, ISO 27001 or GDPR?
We provide point-in-time recovery with defined objectives, plus restore reports and retention logs on request — the demonstrable, testable recovery evidence auditors expect. EU data residency keeps GDPR simple.
Do you run it for us?
No. You own and run the solution; we help you choose the right fit, deploy it, and get your team confident with it — so you are not left to configure schedules or work it out alone at the worst moment.
What does it cost?
Pricing depends on your platforms, users and retention needs. We scope it on a short call so you get an accurate answer rather than a misleading list price. Book an assessment and we will walk through it.
