Privacy policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

This page describes our privacy practices in plain language. It is a template that should be reviewed by counsel and completed with your registered company details before it is relied upon.

This policy explains how Digital Technologies Holding Kft., operating Ransomware Backup, handles personal data across this website and our backup and recovery solution and related services.

Who we are

Ransomware Backup, provided by Digital Technologies Holding Kft., helps you choose and deploy independent SaaS backup and ransomware recovery. For questions about this policy or your data, contact hello@ransomwarebackup.com.

Two different roles

As a data controller, we process the limited personal data you give us through this website — for example when you submit a contact or assessment form.

As a data processor, we process the content within your SaaS tenants strictly on your instructions, to provide backup and recovery. That data belongs to you; we do not use it for any other purpose.

What we collect (website)

  • Contact details you submit: name, work email, company and your message.
  • The platforms you select and the intent of your enquiry.
  • Basic technical data needed to deliver and secure the site (e.g. request logs).
  • We do not sell personal data, and we do not run intrusive advertising trackers.

Why we process it, and the legal basis

  • To respond to your enquiry and provide the service you asked about — on the basis of your consent and/or steps taken at your request prior to a contract.
  • To operate, secure and improve the website — on the basis of our legitimate interests.
  • To meet legal and accounting obligations — where required by law.

Backup data we process for clients

When you are a client, the service creates independent, encrypted copies of the SaaS data you authorise us to protect. This data is stored on EU-based infrastructure, encrypted in transit and at rest, and kept logically separated from other clients. We access it only to operate the service and to perform restores you request.

Where data is stored and transfers

Backup data is hosted in the EU by default and does not leave the region. Website and communications tooling may involve service providers acting as our processors; where any transfer outside the EEA occurs, it is covered by appropriate safeguards.

Sub-processors

We use a limited set of vetted sub-processors (for example hosting and email delivery). A current list is available on request.

Retention

Website enquiry data is kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable follow-up period, then deleted or anonymised. Client backup retention is governed by your service agreement.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to certain processing, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

  • To exercise any right, contact hello@ransomwarebackup.com.
  • You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
